Payment FAQs

Some organisations may require you to pay for you verification using Credas. In these cases, this support article contains FAQs to help you complete your payment. If you encounter any difficulties with your payment, please reach out to our support team at payments@credas.com or call us on 02920 102 555.

1. Will you be asked to pay for your Credas verification?

Some organisations may require you to pay for you verification using Credas. If you have been asked to make a payment, you should be informed by the organisation issuing the payment and verification beforehand. You will likely also receive an email from Credas indicating that a payment is required.

2. How much will you need to pay?

The cost of the verification is determined by the organisation who have issued your verification, they will likely inform you of the price beforehand and when starting your Credas verification, the cost will be clearly displayed to you before you proceed with the payment.

3. What payment methods does Credas accept?

We support all major credit and debit cards internationally, as well as Google and Apple Pay. However, our payment partner Stripe, does restrict payments from a small number of high-risk jurisdictions such as Iran, North Korea, Syria and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. If you think these restrictions may affect you, please get into contact with the organisation who issued you the verification or Credas using the contact details above.

4. Is this a one-off payment?

Yes, the payment is a one-off fee for the specific Identity verification you are completing.

5. Why do you need to pay for the verification?

Compliance checks are a legal requirement under the UK Government's regulations to help combat fraud and ensure legal compliance in the United Kingdom. These regulations apply for a range of services including property transactions, using legal services and director verification for Companies House. The organisation who has issued you the verification has done so to meet these regulations, and has also asked you to provide a payment to cover this verification. The payment covers the cost of secure identity verification, data processing and compliance with UK regulations. If you would like to know more regarding why you have been asked to pay for the verification, please reach out to the organisation who issued you the verification to find out more.

6. What documents will you need?

Before proceeding with your payment, you will be told which documents you need for the verification, this will likely include a photographic Identity Document such as a passport, drivers licence or national ID card. For the Identity Document, you will the real document in front of you to complete the process as we do not accept scans or copies of photographic Identity Documents to meet the UK Government's regulations. You may also be required to submit a proof of address document such as a Council Tax Statement or Bank Statement which you will be able to take a photograph of or upload from your files.

If you do not have the documents from the list provided to you when you start your Credas verification, please contact the organisation who issued you the verification before you proceed with the payment.

7. How do you complete the payment?

  • To complete your payment, you will firstly have to register with Credas by either using the Credas App (recommended) or our website -My Connect. You will need your 6-digit unique registration code that you will find in your email or text invitation. If you have not yet received this code, or the code is no longer working, please reach out to the organisation who send the verification as they manage the codes.
  • Next, we recommend getting your documents ready, if you have not already done so. When yous start your verification, you will be presented with the documents needed for the process before you start the payment.
  • After this, you will then need to enter your payment details, you will be able to pay using all major credit and debit cards and Google/Apple pay, if applicable. Please ensure you have entered your payment and billing information correctly. Once you are ready, press pay.

  • If your payment has been successful, you will receive a confirmation on your screen, and a receipt will be sent to your email. You will then be able to continue with your Credas verification (please see Q.12 below).
  • If your payment has been unsuccessful, you will see a message straight away (e.g., incorrect details, declined and insufficient funds). In this case:
    • Double check your card details;
    • Try again or use another card;
    • If you still experiencing issues, please contact our support team using the information at the top of this support article.

11. Will you receive a receipt?

Yes, once you have finished your payment, a receipt will be sent to the email address you input as part of the payment process. Please note this is a receipt confirming your payment only, this does not confirm your verification has passed. If you would like to discuss your verification results, please reach out to the organisation who issued you the verification.

12. What happens once you have completed the payment?
